Work With Offenders - The Choices

Team Manager

Each YOT may have a number of smaller teams which may be generic or targeted at type of intervention or risk classification. The team manager would be responsible for the day to day running of the team ensuring that each member is working towards their agreed objectives and responsibilities.  This  will include the supervision and performance management of staff, allocation of work, and reviewing and countersigning files to ensure that practice can stand up to scrutiny.

Team managers may also be given lead areas of responsibility for example Court, Parenting and Substance Misuse and can be asked to deputise for their line managers.

A team manager would need the relevant Social Care qualifications and experience of Youth Justice and or Social Work and preferably some experience of supervising staff.
