An Operational manager will assist with the management of a multi-agency team responsible for the supervision of young people subject to the range of community and custodial sentences.

Operational managers may also manage the YOS Prevention Scheme which would include the co-ordination of services to support young people and their families to prevent their offending and to achieve positive outcomes.

Responsibilities can include

• Performance management
• Service development
• Deputising for the YOT Manager
• Staff development and training
• Preparation of reports for strategic management
• Promotion of the work of the YOT with partner and external agencies.

Applicants would need to hold a relevant social care qualification and have experience of managing teams in criminal or youth justice services.
