The Forward Trust

We are The Forward Trust, a UK leading provider of drug and alcohol treatment services to offenders. We deliver treatment and recovery support – in prisons and in the community – which helps people move away from addiction and crime. These services provide a variety of support, including advice, counselling, group work and intensive treatment.

At The Forward Trust we believe that all people who are addicted to or misusing substances should have access to support which is effective in protecting their health, and motivating them to take steps towards their own recovery. Over 20 years of pursuing this mission, we have been successful in moving thousands of drug dependent offenders away from a lifestyle revolving around crime, and drug or alcohol dependence.

The Role

Would you like a meaningful career supporting people with addiction issues?

Want to be part of a social enterprise helping prisoners tackle their cycle of crime and addiction?

Would you like a career where no day is the same?

Are you proactive, resilient, resourceful and able to manage well in an ever changing environment? If yes, we would like to hear from you.

As a Drug and Alcohol practitioner you will be working within an integrated healthcare framework to provide support to drug and alcohol users aged 18 and over in a custodial setting.  Services are designed to deliver Psychosocial Drug and Alcohol Interventions including a range of group work packages as well as structured one to one’s, proactive release planning and relapse prevention/harm reduction strategies.  You will be working with a team of experienced practitioners and clinicians in a fast paced remand prison.
