Are you in Recovery from Addiction? Have you got experience of accessing peer support groups? Would you like to use your experience of recovery to support others?
We are Forward, the social enterprise that empowers people to break the cycle of crime or addiction to move forward with their lives. For more than 25 years we have been working with people to build positive and productive lives, whatever their past. We believe that anyone is capable of lasting change. Our services have supported thousands of people to make positive changes and build productive lives with a job, family, friends and a sense of community.
Forward Connect is our new and improved nationwide recovery community that celebrates and promotes the recovery of all our clients. As a Forward Connect Coordinator you will support clients engagement, role modelling and promoting a recovery culture within the service. You will support the delivery of recovery interventions by facilitating an abstinence based peer led support group and lead on creative idea's for your network group. Your role will be essential in supporting clients with their confidence and empowering them to change whilst utilising skills to signpost service users to appropriate community services.
To be successful in this role you must be stable in your recovery from addiction (which can be less than 6 months), you must be passionate and committed to supporting others and committed to your own learning which can progress your volunteering opportunities.
All volunteers will receive training and induction prior to being able to start in their role and will receive support throughout their placement.
