Are you a proactive, target-driven and empathetic individual looking for a new challenge? Do you have a strong track record of working successfully with socially excluded unemployed people with support needs relating to alcohol and substance use and supporting them to move into sustainable employment and progress within work?
If so, St Giles is looking for a Senior Caseworker to join our team and help to provide a high-level service to people with complex needs, specifically these with history of substance misuse, working collaboratively with Hackney partnerships to address root causes of substance misuse.
About St Giles
An ambitious, well-established charity that helps people facing adversity to find jobs, homes and the right support they need. Central to our ethos is our belief that people with first-hand experience of successfully overcoming issues such as an offending background, homelessness, addictions and gang involvement, hold the key to positive change in others.
About this key role
To succeed, you will focus on working in partnership with Hackney partner agencies, other St Giles teams and referral organisations to identify and receive appropriate referrals to the project. You will take on responsibility for an ongoing caseload of clients, carrying out comprehensive initial assessments to produce realistic individual action plans which are regularly reviewed and updated. You will then review progress and apply case management skills to provide a personalised service and meet all set targets, plus build effective partnerships with local drug and alcohol services to support clients to sustain their recovery journey.
You will also deliver one-to-one and group activities to prepare clients for employment and to achieve their goals, and provide information and career guidance to clients currently in work – supporting them to access ‘better work’ opportunities, training and progression routes. Leading on the development and maintenance of strong links with employers and potential work placement hosts to open up opportunities is also an essential duty.
What we are looking for:
In return, you can expect a competitive salary, generous leave allowance, staff pension, flexible working, a mentoring programme, an advice and counselling service, access to clinical supervisions, season ticket loan and much more.
