RSG agency worker awarded MBE in New Year's Honours

Congratulations to RSG agency worker Bimmy (Virinder) Kaur Rai who has been recognised for three decades of charity work by Her Majesty the Queen in the New Year Honours List.

Bimmy, who currently works for MOPAC as a Programme Officer, has been awarded an MBE for her support of the charitable sector over 30 years.

Having lost both her parents at the age of 13, she cared for her younger siblings and elderly grandfather, and so her dreams of going to university were abandoned. Her outlook on the world was forever transformed by the traumatic experience and she resolved to give back wherever she could. She has been volunteering across several different communities ever since. Over the last 30 years her involvement in various projects has been key in bringing about positive change.

When asked about the award, Bimmy said “It is my life’s honour to have been of service to others, a journey of over 35 years of passionately working hard and facing adversity in order to make a positive impact to the lives of others. It is with Waheguru Ji’s (God’s) grace that I dedicate this to my beloved parents and to those who have supported me on this journey of struggle and success, who believed in me and opened up the door of opportunities to allow me to serve.”

Bimmy’s Red Snapper Justice Division representative Tomas Keenan-Blair added: “We have worked with Bimmy both as a client contact and now a candidate, and in both roles she has been a pleasure. Her care, empathy and knowledge comes across immediately and it is easy to see why she has received this honour and commendation for her work. Bimmy is a credit to our agency, the sector and will be to any organisation or individual that will have the pleasure of working with her in future.”
