We’re proud to spotlight Rise Mutual CIC for their powerful work delivering the CAPVA (Child and Adolescent to Parent Violence and Abuse) programme across Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire, in partnership with The Chrysalis Centre.
The RISE programme supports families experiencing violence from children or young people towards their parents and carers to respond in a nonviolent way, relying on natural consequences to create a calmer environment. Unlike many parenting courses which are based on a punishment/reward approach where parents are encouraged to take control, Rise’s CAPVA provision focuses on improving connection, creating consistency and developing acceptance.
Delivered over 6–8 months, CAPVA works with the whole family to:
Trauma-informed, culturally sensitive and accessible to neurodiverse individuals, Rise’s approach is changing lives and creating safer communities.
If you need to access our funded RISE CAPVA programme to support a family where children are causing harm in the home to parents/carers, please contact The Chrysalis Centre or visit our website: https://chrysaliscentre.net/
